DR diesel locomotive 219 082-5 with an Interregio train on track 1 in
the station of Oebisfelde, departing in direction Wolfsburg some time
between 1992 and 1994.
This picture is no longer possible. The station of Oebisfelde is undergoing major changes with the construction of the Hannover-Berlin high-speed line, and neither the road bridge nor the interesting signal nor the platform in the picture exist anymore. Before the reunification of Germany, Oebisfelde was a station on the East German side of the intra-German border, and track 1 was exclusively used for cross-border traffic and secluded from the rest of the station by a guard post. Taking a picture from this point would have been impossible back then too! |
