Imagine the 'Dynamo' shouts in the main station when I took this photo. Dynamo Dresden beat FC Bayern München II with 2-0 in a 3rd league match on this afternoon. DB DMU 642 044, Nossen DB diesel railcar 642 044 waiting at Nossen station for departure to Leipzig as RB 26583 (departure time 13:56). Few minutes earlier 642 047 left in the opposite direction towards Meißen. Class 642 units are mainly used on branch lines and regional lines. They were manufactured by Siemens under the brand 'Desiro' since 1999/2000 and have a maximum speed of 120 km/h. During this time rail service finished here and passengers had to leave for rail replacement service towards Grimma which was necessary at this time due to track works. Not visible on the photo but behind: 642 178 which will leave few minutes later in the opposite direction towards Leipzig. Maybe it was the last summer for class 642 DMU's leaving Nossen towards Meißen. Due to the austerity plans of the conservative-liberal government of Saxony the line will be closed in 2011.
