switched off.

241 805-1 seen coupled behind 241 801-0 in Aachen West on 16 October 2001. It
seems to be totally switched off, as even the end-of-train signals are provided
by marker boards and not by the electric lights.

241 801-0 leaves Aachen West with a freight train towards Montzen (Belgium) on
10 July 2001. The doors are open, this might be due to the warm weather.

A meeting of two powerful locomotives in Aachen West on 20 September 2001. In
front is 241 805-1, member of the most powerful diesel class of DB Cargo with
2940 kW. In the background is 152 002-2, member of the most powerful electric
class of DB Cargo with 6400 kW.

241 805-1 is waiting in Aachen West with a long freight train to Montzen
(Belgium) on 24 July 2001. At the end of the train 215 025-8 can be seen, which
will push the train on the steep grade. Pushing with diesel locos is uncommon
on this line since it is electrified until the end of the grade.

View into the entrance of 241 805-1 with the door to the cab on the right, seen
in Aachen West on 24 July 2001. The driver is talking by radio. I brightened
this picture up to make the details inside the loco visible, so the outside
colour was bleached out.

241 805-1 passes Stolberg (on Cologne-Aachen) with a westbound freight train on
7 November 2003. Although the line is electrified, from time to time diesel
locos of classes 225 and 241 can be seen pulling freight trains (apart from
local freight and work trains with smaller diesel locos). Maybe this is done if
one of the locos (which normally work on Aachen-Montzen) has to be transferred
to Cologne or back.
