Passenger car 24508, originally a 2nd class RHEINGOLD car of the DRG
from 1928. The interior is not original, it has been changed to
compartments in the fifties. The original colours and inscriptions
have been restored. This car is not in service, some windows are
missing or broken. It is owned by the reisebüro mittelthurgau
and stored south of the wagon hall in the freight station of Freiburg
(Breisgau). April 1996.

Nostalgie-Istanbul-Orient-Express in Dresden Hbf.
One of two ex-Rheingold cars from 1928, the SA4üBar No.
24506 (51 85 09-30 506-7). Externally it has been painted
in (more or less) the colours of origin, but it is rebuilt
with rubber gangways and has a non-historical, but very
nice, interior with bar and piano. 2001-11-03.

One of two ex-Rheingold cars from 1928, the SB4ük No.
24507 (51 85 09-30 040-7). Externally it has been painted
in (more or less) the colours of origin, but it is rebuilt
with rubber gangways. This was originally a 2nd class car
(2+1 seating), today it has an interior similar to the old
1st class cars (1+1 seating). 2001-11-03.

Rheingold car of 1928 in the "Rheinisches Industriebahnmuseum" in Köln,
where the FEK (Freundeskreis Eisenbahn Köln) is maintaining historic
rolling stock. This one used to operate in the "Venice Simplon Orient
Express" and received a special interior for that service, but is now
out of service due to need of overhaul. 2001-06-04.

Interior of the 1928 Rheingold car serving as a café. This
is not the original interior, it was rebuilt several times,
here we see the interior that was installed for the
Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express. As the car is in need of
overhaul, it is only in stationary use currently.

Another coach of the Rheingold of 1928. It has been rebuilt
into a normal compartment car by the DB in the 1950s, now it
is restored to its original livery externally, but still has
compartments inside.
