A work train spreads ballast onto a newly laid track, seen near Düren (on Cologne-Aachen) on 23 February 2003. Some men on the platforms regulate the flow of the ballast, one man watches from the side. Later a tamper is used to put the ballast between the sleepers. This track was removed and built up new for a better alignment. Note that the catenary is not right above the track now, later the brackets were replaced by longer ones.
