RE 11470 (Gießen-Aachen) approaches Düren (on Cologne-Aachen) on 14
March 2004. In June 2003 the lines RE 7 (formerly Rheine-Aachen) and RE 9
(formerly Siegen/Gießen-Krefeld) exchanged their western branches, so RE
7 is now going to Krefeld and RE 9 to Aachen. On the right is the platform end
of the S-Bahn (urban trains) station Merzenich.
