In December 2019 six 8-car and five 4-car units will enter
service and replace the current compositions of the
Voralpen-Express St. Gallen to Luzern. The train is technically
based on the existing FLIRT units so it is is numbered in the
same series. The 8-car sets, composed of two half trains (one
numbered 101 to 106, the other 201 to 206), are painted copper
(which according to SOB stands for "high value, solidity and
progress"), the 4-car sets are painted silver and will be used
as regional trains or to expand the Voralpen-Express in times
of high demand. Later it is planned to use the same trains on
the Gotthard mountain line from Luzern to Locarno.

Inscriptions, you see the weight is not yet filled out. The
number refers to a half-set of four cars. The train is equipped
to use the LBT (Lötschberg base tunnel), GBT (Gotthard
base tunnel) and NBS (new high speed line), even though it is
intended to improve the quality on existing lines.

that a ramp should not be too long ...
