SMB11_Bauma1.jpg (113671 bytes)

Solothurn-Münster-Bahn Ec 4/5 11, built 1911 by SLM. Service weight 74.7 t, length 11.96 m, speed 65 km/h, based at Burgdorf. This engine, based on the SBB CFF FFS C 4/5 2601 to 2619, was the only of its type on the SMB. Because of long downhill sections on the line it is equipped with a Riggenbach brake. After the SMB electrified in 1932, it was used for work trains and as emergency reserve, from 1966 to 1986 it was exhibited at the station Oberdorf. After a revision in Meiningen in 1992, it is operational again, maintained by Dampfbahn Bern and registered at bls AG. Here trying to hide in a cloud of steam.
