The main purpose of the Meiringen-Innertkirchen railway was to transport building material for a power plant and weir at Innertkirchen. When passenger services started the line was not yet electrified, and battery motor cars were used. Battery motor car CFa2/2 number 5 is seen plinthed at Innertkirchen.
