An EMU of the JB in Klene Scheidegg, the starting point of the line to
the Jungfraujoch. Kleine Scheidegg only consists of the station,
a couple of hotels and lots of snow. ;-) It can be reached from Lauterbrunnen and
Grinderwald. 5 March 2003.

BDhe 2/4 power car 207 of the Jungfraubahn is waiting at Kleine Scheidegg with
it's trailer on 20 March 2002. The name of the japanese town Otsu was given to
this unit because Otso has a partnership with Interlaken. Note the swiss and
japanese inscription on the side and the round metal plate on the front. These
old units are by now mostly used for the ski express going just to
Eigergletscher, the next station which is still outside the long tunnel.

rear end when the train will depart.

this unit because Otso has a partnership with Interlaken. Note the swiss and
japanese inscription on the side and the metal plate in the compartment, at the
wall towards the baggage compartment. If you take a close look, you see that
the driven bogie at the right end (the lower end on the incline) has a bigger
axle distance than the non-driven bogie at the left (upper) end. The
destination indicator shows that this is a ski express going just to
Eigergletscher, the next station which is still outside the long tunnel.

The metal plate in the compartment of the BDhe 2/4 power car 207 of the
Jungfraubahn, seen at Kleine Scheidegg on 20 March 2002. This is a rough
translation of the swiss text: "On 1 October 1978, the mayors Kozaburo Yamada
and Kurt Borter signed the partnership of the japanese city Otsu and
Interlaken. Because of this partnership, on 4 May 1980 the Jungfraubahn gave
the name Otsu to this power car in presence of the two mayors and a japanese
delegation."

The catenary above a switch of the Jungfraubahn, seen at Kleine Scheidegg on 20
March 2002. The double catenary for the 3-phase electrification leads to a
really complicated layout in this situation.
