Sometimes you're just out of luck. You travel 200+ kilometres with a night train, then spend 2 hours in a cold unfriendly station for the sole purpose of photographing some trains and this is the kind of weather you get in the morning. No setting whatsoever of your camera can cope with that and the quest for train photos ends in a struggle to keep away from oncoming rail traffic which threatens to run you over without any notice as visibility is about 10 metres and 25 cm.
