KARNOBAT: This is the perfect place for freight train fans. Get there in the early morning and you're bound to see a plethora of freight traffic as the night trains from the Kremikovtsi metal plant make their way to the port of Burgas and a number of locomotives from the depot of Varna (often in double traction) leave with freight for Kaspichan and Sindel shortly after arriving with trains from the same stations. The trains look quite special like this one proves - a set of sulphuric acid tank cars hauled by locomotive 43 531 on their way to the station of Razdelna. 7 August 2006
