Handwritten announcement ... Altough we live in the 21st century , it is clear that they have never heard of the word "automatisation" in Boom ... instead they still prefer to use a handwritten announcement on a blackboard ... the translation of the announcement : "All trains from and to Antwerp depart exceptionally from platform 4". The stationbuilding of Boom Here you can see the stationbuilding of Boom.Boom has a looooong story in the Belgian rail-history.. The station of Boom is located on the Line 52 , a 22.2km long line between Antwerpen-Zuid and Puurs. This Line 52 was closed in 1984 , the time of the famous IC-IR plan ... Because of the enormous political and social pressure , Line 52 was reopened and electrified over its full 22km length in 1998....
