Städtische Straßenbahnen Wien tram type D1 no. 314
(Simmering 1925). Originally built 1899 as type D no. 161, it was
one of the many "small" tramcars rebuilt in the 1920s, with a new
chassis (wheelbase increased from 1.8 to 2.4 m) and a new "glass
front" on the balconies. They were mostly used on the old
Reichsbrücke which was too weak for heavier trams. This car
was sold to the tram of Baden in 1942, later used as a dual power
work car on the Wiener Lokalbahnen, in service until 1976. From
1995 to 1997 it was restored in working order in the appearance
of 1925. Length 8.58 m, wheelbase 2.4 m, weight 8.8 t,
power 50 kW.
