schon.
Building site of the new tram underpass and station at Graz Hauptbahnhof.
Members of the society "Fahrgast Steiermark" were given the opportunity
to visit the building site. During the construction works an unexploded
bomb from the second world war was found. It could not be defused so it
had to be blown up. This destroyed two old trees and many windows of
the surrounding buildings.
The new ramp from Annenstraße to the underpass; the existing lines
1 and 7 use temporary tracks to both sides. Here you can also nicely see
the variety of tram types currently used on these lines. The tracks are
already laid on concrete roadbed, an asphalt cover will be added which
allows rail replacement buses to use the underpass as well. The supports
for overhead wires can be seen as well.
