ÖBB bridge-testing locomotive 69.02, originally built 1898 by Krauss Linz as kkStB 97.152 (wheel arrangement C), 1935 rebuilt into BBÖ 12.02 (wheel arrangement 1A1), 1938 renumbered to 69.02. The intention was to have a locomotive for light trains on branch lines, but it was mostly used for bridge testing (until 1973). Heizhaus Strasshof, 2005-04-03. |
Austria – Destined for the Austrian Railway Museum, one of the world's few
remaining 2-2-2T type locomotives, 69.02 is seen stored inside the old roundhouse at
Vienna's Franz Josef's Bahn station. October 1974
