93 85 0 <u>501 042</u>-2 CH-WSTBA. Two days before taking up
regular service between Wien and Villach, Westbahn did a run
for invited guests, also stopping in Graz. They ordered three
Stadler Smile units, numbered 501 042 to 044, so continuing
the SBB numbers of class RABe 501 Giruno. From the factory
they are identical to the SBB train, so they don't need any
redesign or renewed approval to run. For their service they
are actually overqualified, the multi-system equipment and
permission to go to Italy is currently not needed. The trains
are leased from Stadler to Westbahn for six years.
