95 80 0 643 110-9 A-STBPV, Talent diesel-hydraulic unit (Talbot 1998) running between Graz and Weiz Nord via Gleisdorf. This unit has quite an eventful history: Built 1998 for Angel Trains (the continental European branch of which was reorganized into Alpha Trains from 2007) and rented to Ostmecklenburgische Eisenbahn, from 2005 to 2013 operated by Ostseeland Verkehr (Ola), 2013 to 2020 by Bayerische Oberlandbahn, 2020 for half a year by Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn, then until 2023 by Transdev Regio Ost (Leipzig). In 2023 it was sold along with two other units to Steiermarkbahn where it is used as an interim measure on the line (Graz -) Gleisdorf - Weiz. It is planned to electrify this line until 2028 which will also mean new rolling stock. With three secondhand Talent units Steiermarkbahn can ensure wheelchair accessibility on all trains of this line, nevertheless two units type 5047 (built 1992) are still kept operational as reserve. The three Talent units received different designs, this one is decorated in the light blue and white livery of S-Bahn Steiermark. Weiz, 2024-04-12. |

Steiermärkische Landesbahnen DMU VT 5047.4
Graz Hbf, October 1999 For the line Graz - Gleisdorf - Weiz, the StLB own two DMUs similar to ÖBB class 5047 since 1989, painted in a red/green/white livery. Differences to the ÖBB version are destination indicators above the front windows and a slightly different interior layout. They are numbered as VT 51 and 52, but also as class 5047.4 according to the ÖBB system.

StLB VT52 (5047 402-2) in Graz Hbf on a cold december morning of
2001. This DMU, a variation of the ÖBB 5047 with additional
indicators above the windows, is normally circulating on the line
Gleisdorf - Weiz and comes twice per day to Graz.
