GKB steam locomotive 671 at Lieboch on 2004-10-26. Originally built 1860 for the Südbahn with open engineer stand and rebuilt 1860 with an enclosed cab, it went to the GKB in 1925, where it remained in service until 1970. This is one of very few examples of original mid-19th century steam technology still in operation today. It has been out of service for overhaul a few years, but never officially decommissioned, so, though not the oldest (the engines Ajax, Steinbrück and Licaon at Heizhaus Strasshof are older), it is probably the steam locomotive that has remained longest in active service.
