OeBB_YB_2095_Hollenstein1.jpg (54810 bytes)

Gross Hollenstein, 4 September 2001.
All tracks occupied at Gross Hollenstein, Ybbstalbahn. 2095.009 had to wait for the departure of 2095.010 with a train to Lunz am See, and the departure of a train of a team for track maintenance which was at work between Gross Hollenstein and St. Georgen am Reith, before shunting. As many as 16 wagons of lumber were replaced by an equal number of empty ones. With 16 wagons the maximum train length (capacity of Gross Hollenstein) was reached. In fact, this train was too long for Waidhofen a/d Ybbs.
In contrast to the other still existing ÖBB narrow gauge lines the Ybbstalbahn cannot transport standard gauge wagons. Despite this limitation, the Ybbstalbahn is currently the only n.g. line of the ÖBB on which goods transport has survived.
