1041.02 (A-PLOK 93 81 1041 202-1) at Leoben Hbf, 2017-04-25. 25 locomotives were built in two slightly different carbody shapes from 1951 to 1953 for ÖBB and used until 2003, 5 are preserved today. It is based on class 1040 but with a new, longer body and improved bogies. 90 km/h, 2360 kW. Class 1041 is the last development of a series of Bo'Bo' locomotives with Secheron drive, starting with the 1045 (ex 1170.0) of 1927, via 1145 (ex 1170.1) and 1245 (ex 1170.2) to the first post-war development 1040 and the improved 1041. After this ÖBB continued with much more powerful six-axle classes 1010 and 1110 before developing class 1042 which is still in service as 1142.
