The 1020.44 with the long number A-PLOK 93 81 1020 044-2 is parked at Leoben Hbf. According to the Vehicle Keeper Marking Register, A-PLOK is Pro-Lok GmbH, Austria. According to Eisenbahn-Museumsfahrzeuge, the locomotive built 1945 was in regular ÖBB service (at Salzburg, Villach and Bludenz) until 1995, then a museum locomotive until 2011 when it was sold to Rail Professionals Stütz, a company taken over 2013 by the Czech Metrans Rail s.r.o.; current basis is Laa an der Thaya. As a museum locomotive the windows were rebuilt to the original state. Later a rather big UIC number was written on the frame and new headlights installed. Reportedly the old lights and number signs are installed when it is used for museum trains. At the age of 71 years this is one of the oldest locomotives in regular mainline service. 2016-02-17. |
