ÖBB dual-voltage locomotive 1014 009-3 seen with the Budapest-Vienna EuroCity train "Lehár" at Budapest-Déli station, in summer 1994. Four such engines were equipped with two pairs of pantographs to enable them to run into Hungary. This eliminates the locomotive change at the border and saves 10 minutes. Also, these are the only engines running at the maximum speed of 160 km/h of the Budapest-Hegyeshalom line. The photograph illustrates a bit of history, as all EC trains now arrive/depart Budapest-Keleti station.
