4042.01 built 1936 by AEG/Simmering as BBÖ ET11.001, preserved by Nostalgiebahnen in Kärnten. Only two units were built, based on the VT42. Despite their speed of only 100 km/h they were originally used for express trains between Salzburg, Innsbruck and Bad Gastein, later between Wien and Salzburg. From the 1960s they were used for regional trains, in 1966 sold to the StLB and used on Peggau - Übelbach until 1996 when they were replaced there by Swiss secondhand units. Both units went to NBiK, the 4042.01 is operational again since 2016. Graz Hbf, 2017-12-16, special train from/to Klagenfurt.
