The ÖBB started to install more comfortable seats in some of the Talent units, following complaints that the regular seats were not sufficient, considering the long runs of some of these trains.
The new seats by Compin have a slight recline, movable armrests and footrests, fold-down tables on the back and a better shaped headrest.
An earlier variant with cloth covered headrest and side armrests, without central armrest, was found in the seat test car 50 81 21-73 119-6 as seat "51". I actually preferred No. "31" but perhaps this seat type got better reviews.
It is planned to install the same seat in Desiro units as well.
