In 1873 two three-axle saloon cars were built by Ringhoffer for Empress Elisabeth. As requested they looked rather plain on the outside, not much different from regular rolling stock. The Hz 0010, with a salon and used for daytime travels, has not survived. The Hz 0011 with bedroom, boudoir with dressing table and water closet was used for longer journeys in addition to the Hz 0010. It was equipped with self-contained coal heating and capable of being used in all Europe. In 1895 it was equipped with steam heating and electric lights. After Elisabeth's death in 1898 the sleeping-car was not used. In 1905 it was donated to the Railway Museum which 1916 became part of the Technical Museum. The interior was restored in 2002.
