4080Ws070913.jpg (98404 bytes)

Pullman car 4080 DE (ex CIWL) in Wien Westbf, 2007-09-13. The inscription above the windows has been changed to "Train de luxe Nostalgie Istanbul Grand Express Train de luxe" - it used to be "... Nostalgie Istanbul Orient Express ...". Perhaps this has to do with a lawsuit by VSOE and SNCF against NIOE concerning the use of the brand name "Orient Express". This is expected to be settled in 2008, and (according to Wikipedia) the NIOE rolling stock will be overhauled until then. (By the way, the 4080 is not really a car of the traditional Orient Express, it was built for European daytime trains such as the Flèche d'Or.)

CIWL4032_Ws2.jpg (131892 bytes)

CIWL Pullman No. 4032 D (ÖBB 80 81 973 2 928-3). The interior (piano, music system, bar with gas stove, coffee machine and fridges) is not original. The inscription above the windows has a grammatical error ("GRANDES EXPRESS") and should stretch over all 8 windows. The blue is probably too bright.
