Fictive European operator, Project Aurora Rail Systems, has taken delivery of several high speed two-car HST sets for urban commuter operations, originaLLY to be called HSMT, High Speed Metropolitan Transit, the sets were given the production name of High Speed Multiple Unit.

Powered by a multi-phase electrical system to cope with several European systems, HSMU class 544 are commonly used to feed into Berlin, with some services going between Hamburg and Berlin, running on DB's ICE tracks. Active body tilting means that HSMU have the ability to take tight corners 25% faster than the DB ICE sets. One feature about the HSMU is its small buffet compartment in the centre of the no2 car, between standard and first class.

passengers in the HSMU get to sit in airline seats which face the cockpits of the cars, first class get rather smart in-seat entertainment systems and power-recline seats, second class have just reclining seats. To keep the ride smooth, the HSMU class 544 is kitted out with full pneumatic suspension with coil secondary suspension. The wheels of the trains 6 axles are multi layer wheels, having a solid steel core, an outer steel rim, with two layers of rubber and a steel inner belt, a similar in idea to that used by Early ICE trains. Light weight car-bodies enable the class 544 to run at speeds close to 180km/h.
